Forge Weir View, Halton, Lancaster

PAREX renders have helped to provide the key to creating clean modern lines yet maintaining a traditional appearance at an exclusive new homes development in the rural surrounds of the City of Lancaster.

Forge Weir View in the village of Halton, close to the River Lune, is a development of 50, three, four and five bedroomed, high specification family homes which combine indigenous natural stone and rendered panels and elevations to echo the appearance of many rural properties in the surrounding areas of North Lancashire and South Cumbria.

The development, which will also include a further ten affordable homes,  is the first high profile residential project for local developer Wrenman Homes, which has extensive experience in the commercial construction sector with commercial property firm VMC Developments.

All homes on the development feature rendered elevations for which Parex Monoblanco Bright White (BL10) through-coloured one coat render was specified, following the construction of a sample panel, over dense concrete blockwork.

Monoblanco render offered certain advantages in an area of the country subject to heavier than average levels of rainfall, including its breathable finish and weather-resistance.

Specialist applicator North West Render Ltd, of Foulridge, near Colne, Lancashire, machine applied the render at a nominal thickness of 20 mm, embedding Parex TV10 glass fibre reinforcement mesh to provide added strength at stress points or vulnerable areas above and below window and door head, cills and openings.

The project is the first phase of a larger overall development and stands on the edge of an AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) offering parks, riverside and woodland walks yet close to essential services and a highly rated primary school.
