Parex expands belt cleaner “fleet”

PAREX has expanded its hire fleet of belt cleaners to meet growing demand from the hard landscaping sector.

A further three machines have been added to the company's already considerable fleet, to meet the demands made by civil engineering contractors to save time and labour on site, when cleaning excess residue from the newly laid paving, as well as reducing the environment impact of using slurry applied jointing mortars in public areas. These machines also offer the designer a consistency of finish throughout a scheme.

The machines provide an eco-friendly way to clean all types of hard landscaped areas following the placement of jointing materials such as Granatech, the high strength BS7533 compliant slurry-applied mortar from Parex.

Mechanical cleaners automatically remove the excess material from the surface of the joints before it has chance to cure and they remove the need for hosing, which can often cause difficulties because of water run-off to surrounding areas and drains.

The cleaners ensure that the excess is removed using the revolving sponge belt, which is continually washed clean in an on-board water reservoir, which can then be removed for the safe disposal of residues
