Parex at the Centre of things

Traditional setts and natural stone slabs used for a major hard landscaping scheme in the centre of a Lancashire town have been laid using bedding materials from the Parex Streetscape range.

Parex Granatech pourable high-strength jointing mortar and Bond Plus mortar were used during the refurbishment of Great Harwood town square in Lancashire to form an impressive new focal point for the town’s clock tower and a space for events including the monthly farmers market.

The scheme was carried out on behalf of Lancashire County Council by its own workforce who laid a central area of reclaimed setts, know locally as “cobbles”, in conjunction with new natural stone paving and a series of feature planters with new seating and street furniture.

The scheme was conceived to breathe new life into Town Hall Square which houses the historic clock and is surrounded by a number of Victorian buildings.
